Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton dies (Detroit News) Ron Asheton, whose hypnotizing, droning guitar sound helped make classics out of Iggy and the Stooges songs like "I Wanna Be Your Dog" and "1969," was found dead early Tuesday morning at his Ann Arbor home, according to police.
